The Artist

The origin of the idea has deep roots. It was in September 1996, when a simple but effective demonstration made up through a violin, revealed the assembly of piano tuners and technicians gathered in Cavalese, that in a classical instrument is the wood of the soundboard that sounds, not the strings, which are only the medium used to create the vibration.
That violin, suspended in air with a rope tied to the curl, emanated sounds and music played by a tiny capsule for deafness, leaning on the bridge and connected to a common music tape.

Fabio Ognibeni created the idea, still far from finding the way, that it would be possible to play the wood, autonomously, without the musical instruments.
Replace the ropes with an appropriate medium to put the wood to vibrate.
But the idea evolved over the years studying the physical phenomena of acoustic soundboards, the unique characteristics of the fir of Fiemme, the parameters that affect the sound.
The form was the biggest unknown factor, all the world of instruments starts by shapes, proportions and measures defined, imitated over the centuries. Subverting this idea was almost inconceivable, but it was the biggest and exciting challenge.

Create something totally new, unique, inimitable, which can survive one's time is the goal of each artist. Being able to realize it with natural materials, in a context of art and music, giving new and thrilling emotions is an ambitious goal that was reached.
With Opere Sonore Fabio Ognibeni realized a long cherished dream.
